Shri Ngulkham Jathom Gangte, OSD (Establishment), MEA & Acting DDG, ICWA

Mr. Ngulkham Jathom Gangte assumed charge as Acting DDG of Indian Council of World Affairs on January 6, 2026.

He joined the Indian Foreign Service in 1994. He served in various Missions of India in Cairo (Egypt), Rabat (Morocco), Dublin (Ireland), Dar-es-Salaam (Tanzania) and Chigago (US) in various capacities.

At Headquarters, he served as Deputy Secretary and Director (West Asia and North Africa, 2006-2008) and was Joint Secretary at the Sushma Swaraj Institute of Foreign Service, New Delhi.

He served as High Commissioner of India to Zambia from 2017 to 2021 and Ambassador of India to Tunisia & Libya from 2021 to 2024.

Mr. Gangte has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry.

He speaks English, Hindi and Arabic. A lover of outdoor activities, he plays various games incuding Tennis, Table Tennis, Soccer, etc.

He is married to Mrs. Hatmuonkim Gangte.
