Eligibility for Library Membership
The membership is open to MPs, MLAs, academicians, diplomats, historians, civil servants, journalists and Post Graduate/M. Phil/PhD/ research scholars pursuing study/research in any discipline of social science.
UPSC aspirants selecting any discipline of social science as an optional subject will also be eligible on the production of application form.
Membership on a case-by-case basis to individuals who demonstrate a clear academic or professional interest, even if they fall outside the specified categories may be granted with the approval of the competent authority in ICWA subject to its discretion.
The validity period of the membership of the library will be for one year from the date of enrolment.
Membership charges: Charges are Rs. 500/- per annum plus Rs. 2,800 as refundable security. Refund will be made upon producing the original receipt and deducting any due amounts. In case of a revision to the library membership fee, existing memberships, regardless of the renewal date, will stand cancelled without a refund, except for the security deposit. To continue membership, individuals will need to enroll anew with the revised fee.
Only registered members are allowed to use the library. Members must bring their Library Membership ID card while visiting the library. Library Membership does not guarantee a seat in the library.
Referral Membership: Students/research scholars pursuing study in the field of International relations, foreign policy, diplomacy, and political science are eligible for one week referral membership after producing a letter of recommendation from Head/ Guide on the institution letterhead along with valid institutional ID card.
