As per its mandate to promote the study of Indian and international affairs so as to develop a body of informed opinion on international matters, and to promote India's relations with other countries through study, research, discussions, lectures, exchange of ideas and information with other organisations within and outside India engaged in similar activities, the Council has started, inter alia, a University Outreach Programme from 2016. Under this program, ICWA Research Faculty visits various universities across India to give lectures to the students & the faculty, as well as attends the Workshop organized by the universities to create awareness about India’s foreign policy interests & international affairs.
Under the scheme, travel expenses of the ICWA Research Faculty are borne by the Council, while the University takes care of their accommodation and local travel.
In the first phase, this scheme is being implemented for 40 central universities across India.
