The Indian Council of World Affairs (ICWA), an institution of national importance, incorporated under the ICWA Act, 2001, invites applications (in the attached form) for positions of Research Fellows on contract basis for research work in the following research areas :

• North-East Asia
• Africa
• Europe
• Multilateralism/ International Economy

Research Fellows

Candidates having the following educational qualifications & experience may apply:-

1.  A consistently good academic record (with 60% or more in Social Sciences) with a first class Masters degree in the field of international relations/political science;
2. Ph.D from a UGC recognized university would be mandatory and experience in the field will also be considered.
3. A strong analytical background with experience in teaching/research/work in media organizations/think tanks/research institutions in the domain of international relations.
4. List of published works in journals/magazines of repute.

Relevant foreign language fluency in the area of specialization and knowledge of Hindi is desirable.

The contractual term of Research Fellows in the Council will be of two years, with a probation period of six months. The monthly emoluments will be Rs. 77,512/- p.m. (TDS to be deducted as applicable). The candidates are required to submit No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their existing employer, if any, at the time of interview. No other allowances/facilities will be admissible, except TA/DA for official tours at the rates admissible to Group-A Officers of the Central Government.

Selected Research Fellows will be required to undertake research in areas to be determined by the Council. They are also required to help organize & participate in conferences, lectures & events organized by the ICWA.

Outstation candidates called for interview will be paid 2^nd AC return train fare only, subject to the production of original ticket.

The ICWA reserves the right to reject any or all applications without assigning any reason. The decision of the ICWA regarding selection of applicants for interview and/or appointment shall be final.
