Indian Council of World Affairs (ICWA), an institute of national importance under the ICWA Act, 2001, located at Barakhamba Road, New Delhi and Panjab University (PU), Chandigarh located in Sector-14, Chandigarh have agreed to collaborate in pursuit of their goal of expanding awareness and knowledge on international affairs and Indian foreign policy. The major objective will be to organize studies and seminars on agreed topics on international affairs and Indian foreign policy.
Accordingly, both the parties have agreed to collaborate in following manner: -
1. For the purpose of organizing joint events, PU will act as Facilitator to ICWA in coordinating with universities, academic institutions, corporates / NGOs, industrial bodies and public sector undertakings (PSU) located in Punjab.
2. PU and ICWA shall undertake joint studies through mutually agreed modalities on issues of common interest.
3. ICWA will consider offering internships to students of PU aimed at building their capacity/skills in international affairs and foreign policy.
4. ICWA and PU shall jointly organize events where ICWA representatives/Research Fellows will present the ICWA’s foreign policy awareness programme to participants.
Expected outcomes:
1. Intellectual development of stakeholders in universities, academic institutions, industries, and other partners located in Punjab in terms of awareness on international affairs and Indian foreign policy.
2. Joint publications for dissemination.
3. Create awareness among students and professionals on Indian foreign policy and international relations.
The Memorandum of Understanding will be signed shortly and will be valid for three years.
