Prof. Vishva Nath Attri was Chair in Indian Ocean Studies (CIOS) at the Indian
Ocean Rim Association (IORA) (2014 – 2020). He is a lead editor with the Human
Sciences Research Council (HSRC) of “The Blue Economy Handbook of the Indian
Ocean Region” which has been recently launched in Durban, South Africa. He
has been a visiting scholar at University of California, Los Angeles and at George
Washington University, Washington DC, USA. He is on the editorial board of many
international journals. He participated in IORA’s Core Group Meetings and First
Ministerial Conference on Blue Economy and in the 2nd Blue Economy Summit on
January 2016, UAE. He was invited by the World Bank to make an external review
of the report, “Towards a Blue Economy: Pathways and Prospects for Bangladesh’s
Investment in Sustainable Growth” (March 2018). In his illustrious career, he has
participated and chaired several national and international conferences
