PROF. (DR.) BALASAHEB KULKERNI
Director (Retd.), The Institute of Science, Mumbai
Prof. Kulkerni was the Director of The Institute of Science, Mumbai from 2009 to
2014. He has more than 36 years of luminous teaching and research experience
in marine ecology and has published several research papers in peer reviewed
international and national journals in the area of marine ecology, biodiversity,
aquaculture, and marine drugs.
He has supervised 23 PHD students to completion at Mumbai University.
Prof. Kulkerni presented his research at several international conferences held
internationally, such as in the US, Sri Lanka, France, Spain, China, and Argentina.
As a visiting Professor at the faculty of the Ocean Studies University of Mauritius, he
has guided the faculty to design courses in marine biology and aquaculture.
He has worked on various statutory bodies of Mumbai University, and other
esteemed universities in Maharashtra.
